Dips and tricks to enhance your dance – fixed partners.
The swing dance dips & tricks workshop is an event where dancers learn and practice various flashy and intricate moves to add to their swing dancing repertoire. These workshops cover a range of techniques, from classic dips and lifts to more advanced tricks that require good teamwork and understanding between partners.
Here’s what to expect at the dips & tricks workshop:
-
Progressive Learning: The workshop will start with simpler moves and gradually progress to more complex ones.
-
Partner Work: You’ll need to bring a partner as these workshops don’t involve rotation, ensuring you can practice comfortably and safely.
-
Performance Skills: The moves taught can be used in jams, performances, and shows, adding a dramatic flair to your dancing.
-
Safety First: Emphasis on executing moves safely, with instructors providing guidance on proper technique to avoid injury.
-
Social Events: Often, these workshops are followed by a social dance event, like the Cotton Club, where you can immediately put your new skills to the test.
Remember, these workshops are not just about learning new moves; they’re also about having fun and enjoying the vibrant swing dance community!
